The most appropriate method to clean a roof depends on what type of roof tile is being cleaned.​​
The best way to clean most modern roof tiles is to steam clean and pressure wash the moss, dirt and algae off of them. We like to follow this cleaning method with a chemical treatment (biocide) to inhibit the regrowth of moss/algae/lichen, and give longevity to the clean. We provide a 24 month moss-free guarantee with this service.

For older and more fragile roof tiles (such as period Cotswold stone tiles) we recommend that the moss is manually scraped from the tiles and then a chemical treatment (biocide) is applied. We provide an 18 month moss-free guarantee with this service.​

​To avoid the need for steam cleaning, pressure washing and manual moss removal every few years, we recommend applying a preventative chemical treatment (biocide) every 2-3 years. This is a really cost effective way to keep a roof clean and clear of moss.​
